导语:“属于我们的高辩赛”落幕,一种说不清也道不明的复杂情感开始蔓延。品味属于主角的“回首”,品味属于青春的“留言”。 We’ll be Back! 卞潇 (复兴高级辩论队) To be honest, we never thought that we could advance to the semi-final. Actually, when the journey kicked off, we were still concerned about the obstacles (障碍). Apparently (显然), age was a huge problem. The members of our team mostly came from Grade 10, with only one debater from Grade 11. Compared to so many “veterans (老手),” we were green hands! One dream However, luck was on our side, because we had a devoted teacher, Alan Dai, and a bunch of nice pals (伙伴), offering a helping hand. Mr. Dai set up a busy schedule for the team. Every time we met, all members were divided into two sides: one acted as the affirmative (正方), the other as the negative. Questions were raised and discussed, and new thoughts and arguments were concluded from each day’s hard work. Not even one person was complaining, because we were all fighting for one dream: to rewrite the history for Fuxing High School! The miracle We fought all the way to the semi-final. With passion running through our bodies, confidence burning inside our hearts, together with the will to conquer in our minds, we proved that we deserved each win. It was a pity that we failed to make the final miracle happen. We were all eager to have a one-on-one (一对一的) battle against the other five brilliant schools. We were depressed. But, every coin has two sides: the failure brought out the slogan: “We’ll be back!” Do believe us: the new history is ours to make! And sincere thanks to you all, our “opponents” and supporters! A Pity? An Honor? A Great Job! By 徐慕文 (华师大二附中辩论队) It’s both a pity and an honor to be the runner-up of the 5th SSP Cup Debate Contest. To be honest, we had never thought about making it to the final at the beginning. For the past month and a half, our team worked extremely hard to ensure that we were fully prepared before every debate. An unforgettable journey The journey was really unforgettable. Our team went to great lengths to do our best. We simulated (模拟) mini debates. We searched for vast amount of information via the Internet. We devoted most of our leisure time to polishing our opening and conclusive statements, and modeling cross-fire arguments again and again. We spared no time and effort, and were paid with splendid experiences and enhanced language ability. A different team Perhaps we are a bit different from other teams, since we are all in the final semester of our high school years. We were eager to contribute our share to our school before we graduate. And that is why we were there. We’re not the champion, but we still believe we’re the best. I think we did a great job in the competition, and we are sure our school will come back next year!
