How I Spent Thanksgiving

As we all know, Thanksgiving is always on the last Thursday of November.

This year it was on the 26th, but we actually celebrated it on the 28th =, a Saturday. On the 26th, all the Americans  ran around saying Happy Thanksgiving to basically everyone. On the 28th, my family invited some close friends over to enjoy the Thanksgiving feast along with us. My sister and me had to cook the desserts, and my brother took on the cleaning job of licking the utensils clean.

There was a colossal and absolutely GINORMOUS turkey smack-bang in the middle of the table and there was a HUGE bowl of mashed potato right next to it. There were also pieces of steak and a plate of mixed vegetables on the table, a pot of creamed up carrot, and potato soup sprinkled with bacon bits and a fine drizzle of a concoction made out of sour cream, cream cheese and milk, and everyone just tucked straight in. All the kids though, we had to get our food and eat in the living room, right in front of the TV. After everyone finished eating, the adults all started talking about the stuff that adults all talk about, and we all went upstairs to either surf the web, read or to play on the Wii. Then, at around 10 o’clock, everyone went off to their own house.

After everyone had gone, we started drifting off to bed but we all stayed awake long enough to watch the end of DocuView: The Power of the Planet. When that was done, it was around 11 o’clock, so we brushed our teeth, changed clothes and then went to bed.

My feeling of Thanksgiving is that it’s a fun, happy holiday and a way to bring family and friends together. I really like it not just because of the food, because you get a chance to be really thankful and grateful for what you have, and not want more. I hope that you have learned something about how I celebrate Thanksgiving.
